Mäng on väikese inimese töö

Vahel õhtuti käime Maud'i ja Gokce juures - see on meie lemmik kokkusaamise koht. Seal me hängime niisama või mängime mänge. Üks, mida me tihti mängime, on Jungle Speed. See tuli koos Maud'iga Prantsusmaalt. Mängus on kaardid ja "tootem"-asi, kaartide peal on erinevad kujundid. Kõigile jaotatakse kaardid ja kordamööda iga üks pöörab oma hunnikust uue kaardi ja kui on kaks ühesugust kujundit, siis peab haarama tootemi võimalikult kiiresti - kes enne saab, see saab oma kaardid kaotajale anda. Eesmärgiks on oma kaartidest lahti saada. Mõnikord see läheb päris vägivaldseks, aga tavaliselt tüdrukud võidavad selles mängus :D

Some evenings we spend at our favourite place - Maud and Gokce's place. There we just hang out or play games. One game we ofter play is called Jungle Speed. It came with Maud from France. The game is played with cards and a totem, on the cards there are different shapes. Everyone is dealt cards and one by one we turn our cards and when there are two similar shapes, the totem must be grabbed as fast as possible. The one who gets to totem, can give his/her cards to the loser. The goal is to get rid of youe cards, Sometimes the game is quite violent, but the girls are usually the winners :D

Mõnikord mängime ka kaarte. Üldiselt on kõik õpetanud mingi mängu omalt maalt. Mitmed neist on olnud kiiruse peale, näiteks türklaste mäng "eesel", kus ma üsna lihtsa vaevaga eesliks jäin. Mina siis omakorda õpetasin neile kõige tavalisema mängu, mis meil Eestis üldse on, ehk siis ma õpetasin neid potikut mängima. Tuli välja, et see on päris keeruline mäng, teiste omadega võrreldes. Reegleid tundus kuidagi palju, kui ma neile seletasin, aga see võib olla ka selle pärast, et ma pole kunagi pidanud kellelegi reegleid seletama, sest et kõik eestlased oskavad seda mängida. Tavaliselt on ainuke küsimus, et kas saatmisega või ilma. Aga kui nad olid reeglid selgeks saanud, siis hakkas see neile igatahes meeldima. Me oleme seda päris mitmel korral mänginud. Ja kuna nimi "potik" ei jäänud neile kuidagi meelde ja ma ei suutnud seda ka kuidagi tõlkida, siis on see mäng siin üldiselt tuntuks saanud kui "estonian fights" (ilmselt sellest, et kaarte kogu aeg tapma peab :P).

Sometimes we play cards. Everyone of our group has taught us a game of their own country. Several have been games, where you have to be fast, for example the turkish game "donkey", where I quite easily earned the title "donkey", because I wasn't very fast. So I taught the others the most typicak game we have in Estonia, I taught them to play potik. It seemed to be a bit more complicated than the other games, but it may just seem so to me, because I have never explained the rules to anybody, because every estonian can play this. But once everybody had learned the rules, they began to like this. We have played it several times. And since the name "potik" has not been easy to remember and I couldn't translate it, the game is now known as "estonian fights" (because you have to kill cards all the time :P).
